Beauty treatments you can do from home

Beauty treatments at home

As another week passes in isolation, you might be starting to feel a little worse for wear. I know I am! With my sunkissed glow of summer now completely faded into the abyss, I’ve been spending more time researching the products that will save my skin. And there’s good news! These beauty treatments at home will make you feel a million bucks. They *might* even be so good, you’ll end up saving money on overpriced salons and start treating your skin from home!

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive in!

1. Jade Face Roller

Buy it now: $42

I recently took the plunge and splurged on a jade face roller. “Do they even work?” I asked my friend before purchasing. Said friend also has the most incredible skin, so I took her word for it. Use in the morning and/or evenings with face oil. I use the Sunday Riley antioxidants oil to nourish my skin and get those face muscles working!

2. Vanity Planet scalp massage

Buy it now: $20

We’ve all heard our hairdressers say that massaging your scalp stimulates growth for your hair. If you haven’t, you know it now! Using the vanity planet scalp massager will not only feel great but it will also encourage your hair to grow through stimulation. If you’re regretting making the chop (like me), this is a great way to fast-track your hair back to a healthy length.

3. Hum Pre + Probiotics

Buy it now: $40

I hadn’t heard of probiotics until I was at a 5-day yoga retreat in New Zealand. “You don’t take them!?” my friend, a Californian native, questioned me. “I’ve never heard of them before” I answered honestly. Probiotics, as I came to learn, are essential to good gut health.

4. Skin Gym Sculpter

Buy it now: $32

An alternative to jade rollers or in addition to them, are these skin gym sculptors. I use both! They’re a great way to stimulate your face muscles and give them a workout at the beginning or end of the day.

5. Cork Roller

Buy it now: $60

If you’re working out from home during quarantine, try using a roller to give your muscles the attention they need. This cork roller is a great alternative to foam rollers and being a bit harder, it really gets the job done!

6. Fur Silk Scrub

Buy it now: $48

To give your full body a full exfoliation and leave it silky smooth, this Fur silk scrub really does the trick. Use an exfoliating scrubber or brush to get the most use out of it.

7. Magnesium Supplements

Buy it now: $60

I’ve been having difficulty sleeping during quarantine which (experts say) is a product of anxiety and fear of the unknown. Magnesium is a great way to ensure a deeper, more restful sleep. I swear by it!

8. Antioxidant Beauty Boost

Buy it now: $50

Beauty starts from within and these antioxidant pills will give you the boost you need. Take one a day alongside a healthy diet of lots of plants, protein, and plenty of water.

9. Ouai Leave in Conditioner

Buy it now: $26

Ouai hair products are hands down my favourite on the market. They smell amazing, but also leave your hair feeling like you’ve just been to the salon. And since you can’t go to the salon right now, it’s a great alternative!

10. Act + Acre Conditioner

Buy it now: $28

Another great hair product to give your hair salon-silky locks is this conditioner for act + acre. It is pretty new on the market and really making a buzz in beauty circles!

11. Moon Dust Teeth Whitening

Buy it now: $15

Teeth whitening was once an expensive luxury. Now you can whiten your teeth from home with this moon dust powder. Seriously, it works a treat! Best of all, it is inexpensive.

12. Davids Toothpaste

Buy it now: $10

I switched to natural toothpaste a couple of years ago when I was living in LA (remember those days?) Davids is the best product on the market and it lasts a long time, too!

13. Ouai Dry Shampoo

Buy it now: $24

My favourite Ouai product is the dry shampoo spray. It smells amazing! Whenever I have this in my hair people always ask what perfume I’m wearing – it smells that great!

14. Ouai Detox Shampoo

Buy it now: $20

If you love the Ouai range as much as I do (which I’m sure you will), try the detox shampoo to round off your hair routine. It smells great and does the best job at getting all the grime out of your hair.

15. Burt’s Bees Face Wipes

Buy it now: $7

Last but not least – for those days you just can’t be bothered (or are too drunk to care), these cucumber and sage face wipes are the answer to a quick cleanse before bed. I love having them in my handbag for flights, too, whenever air travel picks up again!
