If you could go back to any moment in time? 💫 If you could go back to any moment in time? 💫

I’d be waking up in the back country of New Zealand with Sophie in the oversized van we rented to live in for two weeks on a budget of zero dollars. Eating peanut butter on bread for breakfast while we tuned in to whatever local radio station was busting out the tunes that morning. Oh and drinking a bottle of wine a night to stay warm because we didn’t want to pay park fees to plug in. Kinda hard to do that with a budget of zero.

If this pandemic has made me realise anything it’s that my friends are really the glue that has kept me together the past twenty something years of living. Relationships come and go but your friends are your chosen family. I miss being able to jump on a plane and run to each of you when I’m having a moment (lol) which, let’s be real, is me in a nutshell. I’m content with running to - not running from - something. Bc if you have friends like mine you’ll know what I mean. 🌛✨
Making a promise to myself to explore more of my b Making a promise to myself to explore more of my backyard this year 🌿 I don’t think there has been a better time (!!! Duh) to spend more time connecting with the places around you. I kicked off this weekend with a 4:00am start to visit the Derby floating sauna, 1.5 hours drive north east of where I live. Tasmania // home, you’re the goodies. Thanks to everyone for their support this past 12 months in my quest to get home. Couldn’t be happier! @floatingsauna_lakederby @tasmania
You know [in your soul] when it’s time to go 💘
Many of you have been asking about my next book ~ Many of you have been asking about my next book ~ a memoir I teased earlier in the pandemic. I started to hit a wall (some may call it writer’s block) when I made the decision to leave South Africa and move home to Australia a few months ago.

After the decision was made I couldn’t write. I could barely open the manuscript I’ve been working on and become so fond of. I struggled to even type a legible email.

I was on the phone to a friend talking through how I’d put my writing on pause when she recommended starting The Artist’s Way. “It’s like therapy for creatives,” she praised. Then I read that Elizabeth Gilbert said “without The Artist’s Way, there would be no Eat Pray Love”. It was decided.

Today I start TAW 12 week journey to make sense of all the life I’ve been living the past 29 years and hopefully make it art. Thanks for your patience. I’ll trade you honesty and say there has been a slight pause, but I want this memoir to move and make you. Leave me a 🍷 if you made it this far and are waiting for the book. Love Brooke, x
I AM WHAT I LIVE // and while this year has forced I AM WHAT I LIVE // and while this year has forced me to slow down, I'm so grateful for the chance to stop and really take stock of everything the past eight years travelling has given me.
My favourite memory this year was being back in Paris. I don't know what it is about that city (okay fine I could make a list as long as my arm), but it just feels like my spirit city.
The French culture, the patisseries, the attitude toward the art of doing nothing... every time I close my eyes I think of a life there. And while I'm back at home in Australia, I'm not ruling out a stint in the city that has my heart. What about you? Would you pack your bags and leave for another city?

Learning French AM vs PM hahaha.... which one do y Learning French AM vs PM hahaha.... which one do you resonate with more? 😜😜 I've really been missing travel this year but have found other ways to bring travel back into my life like learning French with @RosettaStone this past month. And the results? Très bien, merci! I still have a long way to go before I'll be able to hold a conversation... but I do have the important topics down like ordering a croissant and asking for un vin, s'il vous plait ;) #partner #rosettastone #french
Thanks for all the well wishes on arriving back in Thanks for all the well wishes on arriving back in Australia! 🥂 Here's a look at my journey home from Dubai where I had a cushy 13 hours to start my French course with @RosettaStone I have been wanting to do this all year but two weeks quarantine in Sydney seems like a great time to start something I can chip away at each day. Plus without travel for the foreseeable future, I'm looking for other ways to get my escape. I'm excited to share my progress after quarantine! #partner
